Bridging divides with better conversations

If you are ready to have better conversations and help move people to be more supportive of immigrants and refugees, learn more by downloading our full toolkit below.

We all know that immigration is a hot topic in our media and politics, but there's a way to have tough conversations that can help us understand each other and build support for an America where everyone has the freedom to thrive. As Ami shared with her daughters, it's as easy as one, two, three:

Ask open ended questions.

Questions open up conversation and create the context for someone to engage with new viewpoints and challenge their own thinking.

Make others feel heard.

Creating an environment where others feel heard as they sort through their views often opens the door to other viewpoints.

Compassion is key.

The act of centering compassion can lead to overcoming fear, which creates productive mindsets for tough conversations.
